Counselling Corner opens in Mandalay
A dedicated mental health space for individuals and communities affected by recent earthquakes and ongoing stressors has opened in Mandalay. This centre offers confidential counselling, mental health workshops, and a safe, welcoming environment for healing and reflection.
We believe that everyone deserves access to mental well-being support, and this new branch helps us bring that support closer to those who need it most, and to support existing Seit Mate Swe centers in upper Myanmar through trainings and supervisions.

Healing through story – “The silent weight”
This month on our Facebook page, we shared a fictional story that resonated deeply with many – a story about Thwel Thwel, someone facing stress from a heavy workload, strained relationships, and the feeling of being stuck. In the story, Thwel Thwel often hears advice like “Do self-care,” but it sounds too trendy, too distant, and almost selfish in a world where she is constantly expected to hold everything together.
But what if self-care isn’t selfish? What if it is the very thing that helps her become more resilient, calm, and emotionally grounded? We explored what real, accessible self-care looks like – not expensive or complicated, but small, intentional acts that regulate emotions, strengthen relationships, and rebuild confidence.
It is a story many corporate employees relate to – silently struggling, appearing strong. We believe storytelling like this can help start conversations in the workplace and make room for empathy, balance, and healthier teams.

Counselling Corner at ACA National Conference 2025
Counselling Corner was invited by the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) National Conference 2025 in Australia this past month to deliver the keynote speech for an audience of 500 Australian counsellors.
From sound and meditation sessions to presentations on trauma, inclusion, and ethics, we had the opportunity to learn, share, and grow with global leaders in the counselling field. This participation strengthens our commitment to bringing global standards and new knowledge back to our work in Myanmar.

Clay workshop is a powerful way to express oneself. Both are also known as therapeutic and allow participants to show their ideas and thoughts freely without the use of words and can extend attention span, build imagination and boost self-esteem. As by researched, these therapies can reduce trauma, depression, anxiety, and tension, as well as enhance the emotional, spiritual, cognitive, and physical well-being.
