Soe Myat has an outgoing personality and cheerful demeanor, always bearing genuine interest in helping people. As a firm believer in people being able to make choices to live their best lives, Soe Myat is passionate about empowering and helping them see their own strengths. To understand people and help them more effectively, she started her counselling journey by completing basic and advanced counselling skills course from Counselling Corner in early 2021.
Coupled with empathic listening and non-directive approach, Soe Myat has been facilitating emotional wellbeing workshops for Myanmar people who are going through difficult times due to pandemic and political unrest in Myanmar. She also volunteered at Nway Oo Healing Space for 6 months. She is passionate about helping Myanmar community in Singapore who are away from home by creating a safe place to share their thoughts and feelings.
After witnessing the firsthand benefits of therapy in her self-discovery and healing journey, Soe Myat decided to further pursue Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology in Singapore and is expected to graduate in August 2023.
Prior to that, she has over a decade of working experience spanning across myriad of industries including Hospitality, Oil & Gas, International Trade, and Consultancy in both Singapore and Myanmar. During her free time, she is seen hanging out with her friends, if not watching documentaries, or creating positive affirmations You Tube videos in Myanmar language.
