10 October 2024 – World Mental Health day

Worldwide, 10 October is celebrated as World Mental Health Day – a time to give attention to mental health. This year the theme is “Mental Health at Work”. It’s quite new idea in Myanmar for companies to take care of the mental well-being of their staff, yet it makes sense: as an employer you want to make sure your staff is fully concentrated at work!

It’s very normal for staff to have extreme emotions at the moment and bottling up all these emotions is not healthy. The best way to release emotions is talking about them and sharing your emotions with others.

Talks about mental health in Myanmar language

Our counsellors have been discussing different mental health topics for years and all these are free and available on our podcast, on Facebook and in our YouTube video library. Share these with your staff and take 3 minutes at the beginning of your next meeting to ask how everybody is feeling.

Free workshops and individual counselling for communities who need it most – Seit Mate Swe program

If wanted, individual people can continue to get free individual counselling sessions. Currently we have possibility to organise in-person workshops in and around Yangon, Mandalay as well as Southern Shan State or online nationwide.

Do you know a group of 12-20 people who are interested to start taking care about their mental health but can’t afford it? Call Ma Kyawt from our Seit Mate Swe program to organise a free workshop: 09-881063030.
